ESAVS Conference: ERA Experts Promoted the Project of the Multilateration Surveillance System in the North Sea

ERA experts Vojtěch Stejskal and Vojtěch Pék took part in the International Symposium on Enhanced Solutions for Aircraft and Vehicle Surveillance Applications (ESAVS), held on April 7 – 8, 2016, in Berlin, the capital of Germany. The conference organised by the German Institute of Navigation and German Aerospace Centre was focused on current and upcoming surveillance sensors performance, their verification and recently identified and rising challenges.

Among the presentations by ATM industry participants, the ANSPs and the EUROCOTROL experts, Vojtěch Pék introduced ERA's latest challenging project. His lecture on the surveillance system for monitoring air traffic for oil rig platforms in the North Sea used by Air Traffic Control the Netherlands met with great interest. The presentation followed a similar topic one describing the ADS-B system EKOFIS deployed on oil platforms in Norway and provided the view on the difference between the challenges these two technologies deal with.
