ERA lectured at the IRS International Radar Symposium in Berlin

ERA actively participated in the International Radar Symposium (IRS), which was organized by the German research institutes German Institute of Navigation and Fraunhofer-Institut für Hochfrequenzphysik und Radartechnik in the capital of Germany, Berlin, on May 24-26, 2023.

The three-day conference was attended by representatives of research institutes, universities and industry: 190 experts in radar technology from 20 countries presented 90 articles. The conference dealt with the use of radar systems in the civil and military domains to ensure a surveillance, both in air traffic control and for defense purposes, e.g. in the detection of ballistic missiles or glide vehicles. In addition to the use of radars in aviation, the participants also emphasized the use of radars in industry in general, especially in the automotive field.

Main thematic areas that were emphasized:

Synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) and inverse SAR (ISAR

Detection and classification of drones using active radars

Distributed radars in automotive

Signal processing in radar processing

Use of artificial intelligence in radars and related applications

Target tracking and localization

Passive, bistatic and multistatic radars

THz radars

ERA was represented by a member of the developmentteam from the Prague branch and presented an article created in cooperation with the Czech Technical University on the topic of Generating Realistic Aircraft Trajectories Using Generative Adversarial Networks (AI). These are especially important for obtaining realistic test data, or additional training data for machine learning algorithms (data augmentation).
