ERA helps to develop standards for Counter UAS systems

The EUROCAE WG-115, known as "CUAS", held its 21st meeting at EUROCONTROL HQ in Brussels on January 30 - February 1, 2024, to discuss and further develop standards for Counter UAS systems (Unmanned Aircraft Systems).

The international Working Group 115 consists of experts representing the different stakeholders affected by the UAS operations such as ANSPs, National Authorities, Airport Operators and System Suppliers (ERA company among them). The 21st meeting was the first one with an attendance of ERA representative, the member of the Product Management team.

The "Operation Services and Environment Definition for Counter-UAS in Controlled Airspace" (ED-286) and the "System Performance and Interoperability Requirements for Non-Cooperative UAS Detection Systems" (ED-322) documents were reviewed, and steps for further development were discussed.

The next meeting is scheduled for the beginning of April and will be held in Washington, D.C., United States.

EUROCAE is the European leader in the development of worldwide recognised industry standards for aviation by coordinating European and global standardisation processes.
NATS is a leading provider of air traffic control services, which handle over 2.5 million flights and 250 million passengers travelling over the UK and across the North Atlantic.
